Our college’s deputy secretary Hailin Xiong and other people, on behalf of our college, took a special trip to Hainan Lingshui Maize Nanfan Base to visit Yongzhong Liu , who is a first-line researcher, and his team members.
In the Base, Xiong Hailin inspected the Nanfan experimental materials of Yongzhong Liu’s research group. What’s more, Xiong also understood the developing process and basic infrastructure of the Base, researchers’ living and working conditions and so on. Yongzhong Liu introduced their germ plasm innovation and new breeding methods developed in recent years to the visitors.
On behalf of our college, secretary Xiong expressed our passionate care to Yongzhong Liu’s research group and gave a high degree of recognition for their achievements, which were obtained in maize breeding research in recent years. Secretary Xiong stressed that the work in Nanfan shortens the breeding cycle and accelerates the process of new varieties’ breeding. The teachers and students in Liu’s research group have stuck to the work in Hainan for a long time, without fearing hardships or tiredness. They are adhering to a good style that agricultural workers must have. And they are using their practical action to show “the Spirit of Nanfan” in this new era.
“Thanks very much for the care to instructors and students in Nanfan from college and leaders at all levels, I will celebrate Spring Festival in Nanfan for the second time. Although I could not celebrate Spring Festival with my family, I will enjoy this different happiness staying with my tutor and fellow apprentices,” said Ziru Zeng, a postgraduate working in the Base.”As a postgraduate in an agricultural university, we must have a kind of scientific literacy, which includes doing down-to-earth work and daring to bear hardships. All in all, I am determined to be ‘a man who chasing the sun’ in this new era.”
